Forensic Analyst (Biological)

Image result for forensic analystA forensic analysts job is to analyse the evidence that was discovered by the SOCO team at the crime scene, they usually do not need to leave the lab as the evidence is sent directly to them. This type of forensic analyst only deals with biological evidence that had been found at a crime scene, this would include blood, DNA, bodily fluids, etc. As they only deal with a specific type of evidence they are known as a specialist forensic analyst, this means that they will not be needed in every case, they will only be needed if any of the evidence found at a crime scene is biological. If a specialist forensic analyst who only deals with biological evidence attended a different investigation then their roles and responsibilities would not change as they are only their to analyse the biological evidence, the only thing that would change is the type of biological evidence they would receive for each investigation.

OJ Simpson:

Image result for oj simpson forensic scientistIn the OJ Simpson case where he allegedly killed Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman there was no specific forensic analyst who only dealt with biological evidence in any part of the investigation. There was however a main forensic scientist who dealt with all the evidence that was found at the crime scene, his name was Henry Lee, He also had a team of other forensic scientists to help him to analyse and research the evidence found. His role was increasing more difficult due to the scenes of crime officers as a lot of the evidence they had collected was contaminated and the evidence that wasn't contaminated was not tagged correctly which meant that Henry Lee and his team had to spend time trying to organize the evidence so they had a better understanding of what they where dealing with, they also wasted a lot of time as they did not know what pieces of evidence where contaminated which meant they had to go through and analyse every piece of evidence just to find that most of the evidence was contaminated and could not be used. Due to this the whole process of analyzing the evidence took a lot longer than it should of.
